My step father and I always argue about this. He always asks me if I would rather be rich and unhappy, or poor and happy. As much as I respect him, I think this is such an invalid (not to mention stupid) question. If given the choice to be rich or poor. Without a doubt, I would choose rich. I understand that being rich doesn’t necessarily brings you happiness. But are you getting any closer to happiness by being poor? Does being poor guarantee you a wonderful family, a small cozy house, and a life of simple pleasures? In reality, as  much as we try to stay positive, nothing can guarantee happiness. Personally, I would at least satisfy my materialistic needs/desires than risking the chance of not having either.
